Institutional Strength:
- The college campus is centrally located at Tipaimukh Road which makes it accessible from all corners of the town.
- Its close proximity to the District Hospital allows quick response to any medical emergency within the campus.
- The college is adjacent to the District Council Library where students can avail supplementary reading materials.
- The college creates a conducive environment for learning by creating an aesthetically pleasing campus with natural vegetation and floral gardens.
- The college is a microcosm of Churachandpur town with students belonging to varied tribes and religious affiliations. This inculcates a sense of harmony and peaceful coexistence which is a much needed example in the town.
- The college has become a strong and affordable alternative to the erstwhile practice of sending students outside for further studies or in private colleges which poses financial strain to many families.
- The college has well-trained and qualified staff.
- There is an emphasis on gender equality and women empowerment.
- The college conducts various extension, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

Institutional Weaknesses:
- The lack of physical infrastructure limits the number of students who can be admitted as there are limited number of classrooms and seats in the college.
- Shortage of teaching staff and low sanctioned posts is a factor in the distribution of workload among the teachers.
- The unavailability of hostel facilities poses a challenge to students from outside the town who do not have accommodation, thereby leading to poor attendance.
- The large disparity in the student and number of library book copies hinders the access to learning/reading materials.
- The students cannot access E-resources as there are limited number of personal computers at their disposal. This poses a further challenge for many students who do not own smart phones or are unable to afford data packs in their mobile connection.
- The high student-teacher ratio makes it difficult to impart lessons effectively.
- Students from rural areas face language barrier as English is the mode of instruction.
- Shortage of funds for well-equipped laboratories and computer systems.
- Lack of quarters for teachers who belong to different districts.
- Lack of fully functioning gym facility.

- The college lacks adequate resources and infrastructure in comparison to the high rate of enrolment of students each year
- It fails to organise conferences, seminars and workshops
- It fails to keep pace with the rapid changes in technology and innovations in higher education
- It fails to enhance the language deficiencies of students from more backward regions because of lack of individualized instruction especially when the enrolment is so high.

Curricular Aspects:
Churachandpur College offers degree courses in Arts and Science.
The faculty of Arts has 11 departments viz. 1) Anthropology 2) Economics 3) Education 4) English 5) Geography 6) History 7) Mathematics 8) Political Science 9) Sociology 10) Manipuri 11) Mizo.
The faculty of science has 7 departments viz. 1) Anthropology 2) Botany 3) Chemistry 4) Economics 5) Geography 6) Mathematics 7) Physics 8) Statistics 9) Zoology
Teaching-learning Evaluation:
- The college conducts 1) Home Assignments 2) Unit Test 3) Semester Examination. Home Assignments and Unit Tests are under the prerogative of the college administration while End semester examinations are conducted under the prerogative of Manipur University.
- The college conducts signature campaigns and awareness campaign among students to ensure fair examinations. Internal Flying Squad is set up to monitor any malpractices during examination.
- Metal detectors are used during frisking of students to detect mobile phones and other devices which are not allowed inside the examination hall.
Research, Innovations and Extension:
- Extension services include visiting nearby orphanages and homes for the addicts and giving them some gifts in the form of cash and kinds
- Participation in activities like good governance day, world environment day, etc. at the regional level.
Infrastructure and Learning Resources:
- Every department is assigned a separate classroom, laboratory and departmental office
- Utilization of PPT is encouraged
- There is an internet facility is available to the students and the staff of the college
- There are a few smart classrooms where provisions are made for audio/visual displays.
Student Support and Progression:
- Several committees to ensure the holistic education of its students.
- The college conducted a Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation training to encourage the faculty members to make use of technology for effective classroom teaching.
- Smart Classroom, Guidance Cell, Grievance Redressal Cell, Anti-Ragging Committee, Library Committee, Environment Protection Committee, IQAC, NSS and NCC (Girls) are some of the committees set up with the aim to improve the co-curricular activities of the students.
- The college has a Students’ Union which works in tandem with the college administration to create a platform for its students.
